INTRODUCTION

DK Mohuba is a former educator, seasoned media and communicator, public relations specialist, and corporate governance practitioner. He holds executive management experience from higher education institutions and served in their governance structures. He prides himself for having served in the various boards of different sectors at both provincial and national governments. In two boards after independent performance evaluation, he was rated by his colleagues as number one for his commitment and professional understanding of corporate governance framework.

BOARD MEMBERSHIPS

  • Mr Mohuba is the former Non-Executive Director of PRASA whereby he served in several committees that included Governance, Social and Ethics Committee ( GSEC), Human Capital and Management Committee(HCMC), Audit and Risk Committee ( ARC) including serving in the ARC of its subsidiaries being Intersite Asset Investments ( Pty) Ltd and Autopax ( Pty) Ltd.
  • At PRASA, he was also Chairperson of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) whose term of office ended in December 2023.
  • He served as a Director of Endecon Ubuntu (Pty) Ltd (consulting engineering) for ten years but remains an active shareholder.
  • Forner Chairperson: Board of Trustees for the Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture, the IDC (Industrial Development Corporation) and the UL Nguni Cattle Development Project (Collaboration of three entities)
  • He served as a Board Member of the Johannesburg Social Housing Company’s (JOSHCO) and was a member of its Housing Development Committee.
  • He serves as Chairperson of Human Res Mohuba has recently been appointed as a PSIRA Stakeholder and Core Business Committee Member ources and Remuneration Committee of the SABC since October 2023 but served in same committee from 2017.He has been assigned to serve in PBS/PCS Committee, and Digital Committee
  • Mr Mohuba was re-appointed to the SABC for another and having served 5 YEAR full time and had stints in Social and Ethics Committees, Audit and Risk Committee (3 months), Governance and Nominations Committee (GNC), PBS/PCS Committee and News and News and Editorial Committee
  • Formerly Served as a Board Member at Edupark Institute, by virtue of being Executive Director- Marketing and Communications of University of Limpopo, Polokwane
  • Mohuba has recently been appointed as a PSIRA Stakeholder and Core Business Committee Member

UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT AND GOVERNANCE EXPERIENCE

  • He served as Senior Events Manager, Deputy Director, Director and as an Executive Director:
  • Marketing and Communications of the University of Limpopo and was its Official Spokesperson until 2019. He was the Editor in Chief of all University Publications
  • He was also Acting Dean of Student affairs from February 2017 to November 2018 responsible for the student governance, student housing, student health centre, student sports administration and student political formation
  • His additional portfolio included the Department of Safety and Safety responsible for the service level agreement with the appointed service providers and worked closely with the Chief Audit Executive especially on the forensic investigation and build a close relationship with South African Police Services (SAPS) and community policing forum.
  • Whilst at the University of Limpopo, he served on the governance and management structures of the University Council, Audit and Risk Committee of Council, Risk Management Committee, University Senate, Executive Management Committee (EMC) and the Executive Committee Senate (ECS), Senate Research and Publications Committee and Senate Community Engagement Committee.

COMMUNITY WORK/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mr Mohuba has a passion for community development programmes and has an excellent track record of serving two terms (six years) as chairperson of the School Governing Body at Pietersburg English Medium Primary School(PEMPS) in Polokwane

  • Mr Mohuba participated in multiple webinars organised by Good Governance Academy and IODSA. Most notably, it was,” Corporate Governance lessons from Zondo Commission” and “Improving Governance in the Public Sector-identifying pitfalls and Solutions” both from IODSA. The Good Governance Academy run a myriad of webinars in corporate governance and were beneficial to oneself e.g Governance and Law, Governance in SADC Countries – Zimbabwe, Zambia and Lesotho, and BEN AFRIKA’s The Ethical Leadership in State-Owned Entities, The Ethics Institute

MANAGEMENT CONSULTING WORK

  • DK Mohuba is currently serving as a Director of Strategic Partner Africa ( Pty) Ltd(management consulting company) The company served various inclusive of municipalities, special economic zones and SOE’s in developing local economic development strategies and facilitating strategic planning strategies.
  • In this role, he has combined his experiences from the higher education, executive management, council, resource mobilization and participation in boards and capacitated oneself with various institutions

HIGHLIGHTS AND AWARDS

  • Received a ROTEK Engineering Award through Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA) for being the best student in Certificate in Community Relations and Development Communication.
  • In 2022, became peer reviewed by Fellow Board Members at SABC as fully committed during independent Board Evaluation Process.
  • 97% of PRASA Board members voted one as fully committed in 2022 during the independent Board Evaluation Process

Sam Chese
Position: Senior Partner

Professional Qualifications:
MBA; B.Com Marketing, HND Marketing, Dip in Marketing, Cert in Gender and Organisation change, Cert in Writing Winning Proposals, Train the Trainer Cert, in Town Management of Business Activities, Train of Trainer in Entrepreneurship.

Sam Chese is a veteran researcher and project documentation with extensive experience in economic policy research, corporate governance, SMME capacity building, strategy facilitation and organisational development. Sam is a former Board member of ChildLine Limpopo and he currently sits in the board of Lifeline South Africa, Limpopo.

For the past 20 years, Sam held senior positions at various international NGOs like Kellogg Foundation, AFRICARE, German Development Services and Opportunity Industrialization Centers, (OIC) and at one time he rose to become the Country Coordinator tor Tools for Self-Reliance (TFSR), one of the most acclaiment SMME capacity building organizations bases in the UK. In 2003 he spend an entire year on specail training in trade and partnership development in Netley marsh, Southhampton, UK.

As a project team leader, Sam had one extensive consulting work for Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA), Waterbeg Economic Development Agency (WEDA), South Afican National AIDS Council (SANAC), Lepelle Nothern Water (LNW), Public Services Sector Education Authority (PSETA), National Development Agency (NDA), University of Limpopo and many more.

Is it this great exposure to institutional capacity building and development that has made Sam one the leading economic development specialists in the SADC region. Sam is responsible for project management, research and training portfolios.

Moloto Mokwele
Position: Associate Partner

Professional Qualifications: B.Com Hons in Accounting ( UP), MBL( Master of Business Leadership), Certified Fraud Examiner and Forensic Auditor. Moderator and Assessor Certificates.

Moloto chaired audit committees of various municipalities in the country and national departments given his extensive experience in the auditing sector.Moloto had a stint at the University of Limpopo(UL) as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Accountancy.
He previously served as National Chairman of the Risk Committee of South African Police Service (SAPS). Moloto is currently studying towards PHD with UL. Moloto Mokwele also doubles as an accredited Moderator and Assessor.
